Restaurant Picks
We are happy to bring to you for the second consecutive year the incomparable opinions of one of the East End's most discerning palates and attentive restaurant goers.
While a year round habitué of the Hamptons Bob is often seen attending one or more social events out east during the peak summer season. He has generously shared his restaurant experiences of the past year with us, and in turn with you.
Bob is known for his perceptive and clear analysis of an eatery's capabilities and qualities. Savory meals, Service and Seating are the standards by which he judges the competition among the restaurants on the East End.
Note of course that unlike many areas, where restaurants establish themselves with a clientele the Hamptons restaurant scene is transitory, even within a single summer season. Also it is routine for service even in the best run of places to begin to decline around the 20th of August as the staff heads back to college or Europe.
This year's picks are drawn from as far west as Quogue and east to Montauk.
The pans include some fallen angels from prior year's lists as well as places that just seem to be headed off in the wrong direction.
